Francisco Navarrete Rueda (UMH) is a pharmacist (UMH, 2007), recipient of the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award and a special mention in Spain’s national end-of-degree awards. He completed his PhD at the Instituto de Neurociencias (UMH–CSIC) in Dr. Jorge Manzanares’ group, focusing on the endocannabinoid system in impulsive and addictive behaviors, while also teaching in the Pharmacy and Medicine programs. He is currently an Associate Professor (tenure track, since 2023) at UMH. Previously, he worked with the Spanish Network on Addictive Disorders, holding positions as Research Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor. He served as Department Secretary (2019–2023) and, since 2025, has been Vice-Dean for Students, Postgraduate Studies and University Extension. Research: translational neuropsychopharmacology, biomarkers, and therapeutic potential in neuropsychiatric and addictive disorders. Project experience: 25 national grants, Horizon Europe Twinning, and industry collaborations; Principal Investigator of a National Drugs Plan project (2024–2026). Output: 80 publications (h-index 28, ~2,600 citations) and 100+ conference contributions; two recognised research periods (2009–2015; 2016–2021).
