The first workshop of the Twinning TrePsy Winter School 2024

Gallery Description

Between the 26th and 29th of February in Institute the Twinning TrePsy project’s Winter School hosted a series of workshops and lecture sessions, emphasizing the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in neuroscience and neuropsychopharmacology research, with a specific focus on recent discoveries concerning the mechanisms of action of cannabinoids. On 26th February, 2024 the workshops welcomed 12 scientists who, under the supervision of Konrad Danielewski from the Marcell Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, engaged in neural network training with selected video recordings from their behavioral experiments. On 29th February 2024, 2 lectures were presented as part of the session. The first lecture was presented by dr Akseli Graf from the Central Institute of Psychiatry in Mannheim, who presented the latest recommendations related to the use of artificial intelligence in research and examples of emerging issues. The second lecture was given by Prof. Francisco Navarrete from the Institute of Neuroscience in Alicante, who presented new possibilities in research and the results of recent studies on the effect of endocannabinoids on impulsive behaviour. The lectures were attended 30 attendees on-site and 20 joining online.

Twinning TrePsy Winter School 2026 “Therapeutic potential of cannabidiol in neuropsychpharmacology”- 12/13.03.2026

Gallery Description

The 2026 Winter School marked the final training milestone of the TrePsy project, organized through a partnership between the Maj Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Miguel Hernandez University. The curriculum integrated two major areas: the therapeutic use of cannabinoids and the rise of AI in the context of systems neuropsychopharmacology. While the first day explored the research on cannabidiol (CBD) – from historical perspectives to preclinical evidence and clinical applications – the second day pivoted toward the future, covering AI’s practical research applications alongside its ethical and legal complexities. Beyond the sessions, the School served as a collaborative hub for researchers at every career stage. The event concluded with a powerful consensus: as research undergoes an irreversible transformation, our primary challenge is to ensure this shift strengthens scientific excellence and amplifies our positive impact on society.
